The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has once again warned public liability insurance holders over the dangers of illegal gas fitting, following the prosecution of a Tywyn fitter.

Chris Bradshaw of Tywyn pleaded guilty to a breach of Section 22 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. He also admitted to 14 breaches of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1988 and was given a total fine of £38,000 with £15,711 in costs.

Pwllheli Magistrates Court heard how a complaint was made to the HSE over work Mr Bradshaw, trading as Chris Bradshaw Heating and Plumbing, had carried out at a domestic property.

Gary Martin, HSE inspector, said: "Mr Bradshaw has shown a blatant disregard for the law, codes of practice and standards regulating the domestic gas safety market."
