Public liability insurance holders in North Yorkshire have been asked to make a New Year's resolution to improve their health and safety standards.

According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), 33 work-related incidents occurred in the region each week, with 1,737 people being killed or injured throughout 2009.

The HSE is hoping that these figures will remind public liability insurance holders that work still needs to be done to reduce the number of health incidents which are occurring.

David Snowball, HSE regional director for Yorkshire and Humber, said that behind these statistics are the real life stories of people and families dealing with pain and suffering.

"We should pause to reflect as a New Year arrives on the number of incidents in the past 12 months and what we can do to stop the pattern repeating," he added.

Despite health and safety records improving in the UK last year, the HSE has stated that there is still much to be done by public liability insurance holders.ADNFCR-2022-ID-19533289-ADNFCR
