The dangers of cancer-related substance asbestos have been highlighted to painters liability insurance holders after a decorator's death was as a result of an industrial disease, a coroner ruled.
Frank Parsons, 61, from Evesham, died earlier this year from malignant mesothelioma after spending all of his working life on and around building sites, according to the Evesham Journal.
He was diagnosed with the disease in January 2008 and was treated with chemotherapy before being admitted to Cheltenham General Hospital in February 2010.
Dr Keith McCarthy, a consultant pathologist, carried out a post mortem examination and revealed that the cause of death was malignant mesothelioma.
Coroner Alan Crickmore, added: "I'm quite satisfied that asbestos has played its part."
Earlier this week, the Chelmsford Weekly News reported that John Durgan, 67, of Longfield Road, died earlier this year from mesothelioma, with deputy coroner for Essex and Thurrock Eleanor McGann recording a verdict of death by industrial disease.
