The manager of Britain's oldest inn has told public liability insurance holders to heed the warnings given by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) over slips, trips and falls.

Ye Old Trip to Jerusalem, based in Nottingham, has its first reference dating back to 1618.

Rosie St John, manager of the inn, said: "We fully support the Shattered Lives campaign and are happy to help get the message across. We ensure that our employees have full health and safety training. I conduct risk assessments and keep up to date with new laws and regulations."

Allister Thorn, environmental health officer for Nottingham City Council, also gave his backing to the HSE initiative, stating that staff need to be fully aware of the consequences of slips, trips and falls and be aware that there actions could make the difference between someone being injured or not.

Earlier in the week, Hannants Cleaning, a Norwich-based firm, advised businesses to try and avoid working at height wherever possible.ADNFCR-2022-ID-19652367-ADNFCR
