People working in the woodworking industry will benefit from an upcoming event designed to reduce injuries to joiners liability insurance holders.

Forestry Commission Learning and Development is to host a free event on March 24th at Bin Forest, Huntly, Aberdeenshire, which is designed to raise awareness of the dangers of cutting wood.

Jason Liggins, an inspector with the Health and Safety Executive, said employees in the wood-cutting industry have to deal with problems such as noise pollution, vibration and the risk from manual and electric saws.

"Although the risks in forestry cannot be eliminated, they can be managed through taking common sense practical measures. Previous forestry safety days have been a great success, with those taking part telling us they welcomed the practical knowledge and skills learned," he explained.

Meanwhile, Peter Hamer, HSE agriculture inspector in Cumbria, recently said that farmers have a duty to ensure that joiners liability insurance customers and other contractors working on their property are kept safe.ADNFCR-2022-ID-19631942-ADNFCR
