The Age and Employment Network (TAEN) has released a new tool to help public liability insurance holders manage the challenges of the UK's ageing population.

It allows human resource managers to assess the impact of an older workforce on their businesses, while guidance will also be given on attracting and retaining talent from different age groups.

The tool is based on one used by around 2,000 employers in the US, developed by AARP, a US-based membership for people over the age of 50.

Chris Ball, chief executive of TAEN, said health and safety benefits can be gained from using the portal.

"This tool will help employers relate their workplace policies and practices to salient issues facing organisations and the economy, including demographic change, workforce ageing and shrinkage, and risks arising from skills shortages," he added.

TAEN works to promote an effective labour market that serves the needs of people in mid and later life, employers and the economy.ADNFCR-2022-ID-800036924-ADNFCR
