Public liability insurance holders in Kent are having their health and safety concerns tackled by local firefighters.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service has joined forces with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to help businesses make sure that their workplace's are 'fit for work'.
The Estates Excellence scheme will see advisers visit firms and offer free training for managers on how to 'get it right' and 'get efficient'.
Heather Bryant, project director from the HSE, welcomed the involvement of the local fire service as there had been a great response from businesses to this scheme.
Mark Richards, senior fire protection manager at Kent Fire and Rescue Services, added: "We want to support and encourage local businesses to comply with their statutory responsibilities and ensure that they're aware of the potentially devastating economical effects of a fire."
Earlier this week, firefighters in Stoke-on-Trent battled a blaze at a factory on the Newstead Industrial Estate, while investigations are also underway after a fire broke out at the Dungeness B nuclear power station in Kent.
