Public liability insurance holders can help to prevent many incidents by carrying out a number of simple health and safety assessments, according to an industry expert.

Heather Bryant, the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE's) south east regional director, said that looking at the ease of tasks, accessibility, protection from substances and training can prevent many incidents in the workplace.

"Every employee has the right to return home from work safely each day and I hope employers in south east share that view and take steps to ensure that is the case," she added.

Ms Bryant added that public liability insurance holders should look at the New Year as an opportune time to reflect on the number of incidents which have taken place in the region over the past 12 months.

The HSE recently warned companies across the UK to improve their health and safety record in 2010, stating that much still needs to be done to reduce the number of incidents which are affecting families around the country.ADNFCR-2022-ID-19533290-ADNFCR
