Witnesses are being sought by solicitors following the asbestos-related lung cancer death of a builder, public liability insurance holders have been told.
The Lancashire Telegraph reported that William Read, from Darwen, died in March this year aged 84.
He was diagnosed with the disease in 2008 after working for building and maintenance firm S Sharples (Darwen), where he was employed as a labourer and was exposed to asbestos.
Prior to his death, Mr Read instructed John Pickering and Partners LLP to bring a claim for compensation against the insurers of the firm, which now no longer exists.
His family are looking for anyone who worked with Mr Read at S Sharples (Darwen) to come forward and give evidence to support their claim.
Earlier this month, work being carried out on a £37 million bridge project in Poole Harbour, which will connect Hamworthy to Poole Port, was halted after the discovery of asbestos.
