Builders liability insurance holders have been warned that the danger of slips, trips and falls should be taken seriously.

Mike Cross, Health and Safety Executive (HSE) head of operations in the north-west, said that while these types of incidents might appear or sound funny, they have the potential to shatter the lives of thousands of British workers each year.

He also advised that cutting out these types of accidents should not be expensive for builders liability insurance holders.

Mr Cross' words come as the HSE launched a hard-hitting campaign which aims to raise awareness of slips, trips and falls in the workplace.

"Making improvements doesn't need to cost the earth and we are encouraging people to visit the Shattered Lives website, where they will be able to get simple and cost-effective solutions to help manage slip, trip and fall hazards in their workplace," he added.

The Shattered Lives site also offers advice such as reminding people that even working at low height can be a risk, with two-thirds of falls being as a result of these types of incidents.ADNFCR-2022-ID-19594154-ADNFCR
