Builders liability insurance holders in London are being invited to take part in a free event which aims to reduce the rate of injury and ill health in the sector.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is running the conference, which takes place at Marmi & Granito, Vauxhall, on Thursday March 25th, for all directors, managers, owners and supervisors of stonework companies.

Experts from the HSE will use practical demonstrations to show workers ways in which they can avoid the most common causes of accidents, while firms will also get the chance to discuss with each other the dangers that they face.

Among the topics that will be covered include the control of silica and other dusts, noise and vibration reduction, safe moving and lifting of slabs and the unloading of slabs from vehicles.

Earlier this month, S Cartwright and Sons (Coachbuilders) was fined £15,000 after a worker was crushed while loading a lorry.ADNFCR-2022-ID-19662829-ADNFCR
