Public liability insurance customers are being invited to a free health and safety event aimed at reducing injury figures in the construction industry.
The Working Well Together campaign has organised the conference at the Crossgates Training Centre in Fife, Scotland, for November 3rd, specifically aimed at issues addressing groundworks.
A series of presentations and demonstrations will be given to builders liability insurance customers covering key areas such as plant and equipment, lifting, falls from vehicles, loading and offloading, cable detection and safe digging techniques.
Health and Safety Executive (HSE) principal inspector Iain Brodie said that the number of injuries in the construction industry in Scotland is a real matter for concern.
"Events like these are designed to provide workers and company owners with the skills and knowledge they need to protect themselves," he added.
Recent statistics released by the HSE showed that 26 people died from injuries sustained at work between April 2008 and March 2009, while there were also 2,666 non-fatal incidents.
