Future builders liability insurance holders will be warned about the dangers of the construction industry at a special conference.
More than 300 students from Salford University will be talked to by some leading specialists, as the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) aims to cut the number of injuries and deaths in the sector.
The HSE added that around 600 serious injuries happen in the construction industry in Greater Manchester every year, with 53 deaths being recorded across the country in 2008-09.
Experts from Shepherd Construction, Mott MacDonald and Bovis Lend Lease will be visiting the university on February 25th to give students tips for staying safe.
Bill Dixon, HSE construction inspector in the north-west, said: "The students in Salford have spent most of their university lives learning the skills and techniques theyll need in the construction industry, but our biggest concern is their safety."
Recently, trainee tradesmen and women at the City of Sunderland College were given practical advice on the dangers of asbestos.
