Developers at Brighton and Hove Albion's new football stadium in Falmer have been showing off the steps that they have taken to cut out slips, trips and falls.

Public liability insurance holders were told that Buckingham Group Contracting and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) gave a tour of the stadium's east stand, including three floors and the roof area.

The firm pointed out the simple steps that is has taken to prevent slips, trips and falls from height, with the HSE's Shattered Lives campaign recently launching a new phase to offer advice on these types of incident.

These measures included gritting surfaces during the recent spell of wintry weather, adding extra lighting for clear visibility and clearing up debris and materials as a priority.

When the HSE's campaign launched, public liability insurance holders were told that falls from height remain one of the most common causes of fatality and major injury for those in the construction sector in Britain.ADNFCR-2022-ID-19599237-ADNFCR
