A court case could be brought against Liverpool City Council by the family of a man who died from asbestos exposure, builders liability insurance holders have been told.
The Liverpool Echo reported that James Regan, from Everton, died in 2007 from mesothelioma.
His family say that he was exposed to deadly dust while working as a refuse collector for the council between 1965 and 1989, or as a labourer in the 1950s for C Roberts, at Breeze Hill.
Solicitor Geraldine Coombs, speaking on behalf of law firm Irwin Mitchell, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who worked with and knew James at C Roberts or Liverpool City Council. Through no fault of his own, James was exposed to asbestos and suffered a terrible and debilitating disease."
Earlier this month, public liability insurance holders were told by getReading.co.uk that Fred Harris, from Riseley, died from exposure to asbestos during his time as an industrial chemist.
