Small Business Insurance
If you operate your own business in the UK you will need small business insurance. This will often include covers such as public liability insurance and employers liability insurance.
ContractorsCompare.com can help you
arrange cover for public liability insurance and employers liability insurance
By having small business insurance cover you are protecting your business and
livelihood. Would you survive in business if you were forced to meet the costs
of any claims yourself?
Public Liability Insurance
If you were to damage the property of a customer or injure a member of the public
then you could be faced with financial ruin. Personal Injury damages can run
into tens of thousands of pounds in addition to the cost of using a solicitor
to defend your case. When you arrange public liability insurance this is all
taken care of by your insurance company.
Employers Liability Insurance
When you employ staff or use labour only sub contractors you need to arrange
Employers Liability Insurance. This a legal requirement under leglisation as
defined in the Employer's
Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969 . The minimum level of cover you
must arrange is £5 million but all insurers in the UK offer £10
million as standard.
Tools & Equipment Insurance
If you use your own tools and equipment then you may need to consider insuring them for loss, damage or theft. This can be included under same small business insurance policy as your public liability and employers liability cover.
